what a weekend

it was really great to be able to share before our commissioning, I always get a little nervous in front of the crowd. Before we were getting commissioned I saw a little girl run up to her daddy when she saw him from a little ways away. It really brought me to tears thinking of these kids in Haiti and how God has rescued them and how they don't have an earthly father to run to and how He has become the Father they run to. How awesome, what a great thing to be a part of.

If you need to be reimbursed for items you have purchased to pack, bring the receipts on Tuesday night to the packing meeting. We need to keep our budget up to date and since everything needs to be purchased by then, it will be a great time to get all those from you.

Willie
WILLIE is a very energetic boy. He almost always has a big smile on his face. Referred to as "Pastor Willie" by the other boys at the home. Willie loves to pray and worship the Lord. During morning prayer time, and often on prayer walks, you will see him interceding fervently in prayer. When not doing homework, studying English or his Bible, Willie can be seen playing soccer or on the swings with the other boys at the home. He is a quick learner and a good student at school. He is also very helpful around the house. Willie's English is quite good and he loves to interact with visiting missions team members and our American missionaries. He continues to learn more about Jesus and the Bible through Sunday school, church, and Bible classes at the orphanage. Please keep him in your prayers as he continues to grow, that he would know and grow in the grace and love of Jesus.

Yves
YVES is a very special young man who has grown tremendously since coming to Maison de Lumiere. Starting out with a rebellious attitude and violent tendencies, he had many problems early on at the home. He decided to leave the home and return to the streets. Hiding from gang members, sleeping under cardboard boxes and begging for food truely humbled him and he returned greatly changed and repentant. He is our true prodigal and a dramatically changed young man who has a sincere and renewed faith in God. He is no longer a resident of the home and is transitioning out into independent life. He is in a one-year vocational training program to learn auto mechanics.
