22 MORE DAYS!

Hey everyone,

Here are some updates!
We will be commissioned at the church at the 9am service on 10/26.  Please invite any family/friends you want to to come!  If you CAN'T make it please let us know.

Art Fair is this Saturday!  let us know if you have anything to contribute or want to be there the day of!

We have a new project! (As if we didn't have enough).  Child Hope International, the organization 501c3 that the Manassero's started for work in Haiti, is having a celebration dinner sometime in the coming months.  They want to put together a video of the kids just saying Thank You.  Ok I just reread the email and it said "I am hoping that Brittany can put together a little Christmas program that can be video-taped as well as getting some "thank you" commentaries from the Manasseros. the Hojara's, Brittany etc."  So I guess it is more of a project than I thought, but I think it would really help build up the ministry through communicating what is being done to people back in America.

Ok so I have I talked enough about how we are trying to slim down on what we are packing.  This guy seems like a packing expert.  http://www.videojug.com/interview/packing-donts-2#what-are-the-biggest-mistakes-people-make-when-packing

"10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints."

10¶ Pou fini, chache fòs nou nan lavi n'ap mennen ansanm ak Seyè a ak nan gwo pouvwa li. 11Pran mete sou nou tout kalite zam Bondye ban nou pou nou ka kenbe tèt anba riz Satan. Konsa, lè move jou a va rive, n'a ka kenbe tèt ak lènmi an. Lè batay la va fini nèt, n'a kanpe la byen fèm nan pozisyon nou toujou. 14Pare kò nou: mare verite a tankou yon sentiwon nan ren nou. Pwoteje nou ak jistis Bondye a tankou plak pwotèj sòlda yo mete sou lestonmak yo pou pwoteje yo. 15Pou soulye nan pye nou, mete aktivite pou anonse bon nouvèl k'ap fè moun viv ak kè poze a. 16Toujou pran konfyans nou gen nan Bondye a tankou yon defans ki va penmèt nou pare tout flèch Satan an ap voye tou limen sou nou. 17Resevwa pouvwa Bondye k'ap delivre nou an tankou yon kas an fè nan tèt nou. Asepte pawòl Bondye a tankou yon nepe Sentespri a ban nou. 18Pandan n'ap fè tou sa, pa janm bliye lapriyè. Mande Bondye konkou li. Lapriyè nan tout sikonstans avèk pouvwa Sentespri a. Se poutèt sa, pa kite dòmi pran nou, kenbe fèm nan sa n'ap fè a. Lapriyè pou tout pèp Bondye a.

Ephesians 6:10-18

Edher is a quiet child who had a very rough childhood. He ran away from home at an early age and survived on the streets until he ended up at a previous orphanage. He is back at his family home but we continue to support him and send him to school. He also attends church and participates in special events at Maison de Lumiere. Edher is a Non-Resident of MDL.

DSC_0652 by you.
Mikerline has also had a very difficult life. When her mother's newest boyfriend decided he didn't want Mikerline living in the house, she was sent away. Her entire life is one of being sent awawy to live with people who don't want her and eventually throw her out. She and her sister Cherley were homeless when we met them and the home offered them safe refuge. Mikerline is a quiet, soft-spoken and mature young lady. She is attending school now where she is doing very well.
