On the medical clinic he says:
"There is a little ravine village walking distance from the orphanage and we would like to have a feeding while you are here. It would be great (because they are very poor and the children are not well) to have a med clinic as well. Let us know so we can plan accordingly." We are going to talk to him more about this and give him a budget on buying medical supplies for this. Eddie, if you have any input we would love to hear it.
On the guest house:
The guest house has 3 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms. It is very big. There will be girls rooms and boys rooms (so married couples will be sleeping separate). You will need a towel, a single sheet, and a mosquito net. Each room has its own bathroom. It is a brand new building so the kinks are being worked out. It's located next to the girls home and we share the security guard. They are trying hard to get us electricity and hope to have a generator but if not Bill says "If not, you may get to do the Little House on the Prairie thing..." So in light of this you should DEFINITELY bring a flashlight and one of those personal battery operated fans. We will make breakfast and lunch and he hopes to have someone to do dinners for us.
Remember it may feel cold here, but as of writing this e-mail at 8:20AM it feels like it's 101 in Haiti with 84% humidity.
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD watches over you—
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.
Se yon chante pou yo chante lè y'ap moute lavil Jerizalèm. Mwen leve je m', mwen gade mòn yo, mwen di: -Ki bò m'a jwenn sekou?
2Sekou mwen soti nan men Seyè a.
Psalm 121
Israel is a very special boy who is one of our leaders at Maison de Lumiere. An excellent and committed student, he studies hard and wants to one day become a pastor. Israel loves sports - soccer being his favorite. Israel is also a worshipper and prayer warrior and is known for his passionate prayers and heart for the Lord.
Fara is the sister of Patrick, one of the residents at our boy's home. Since she was very young, she lived with and helped her invalid, crippled mother. She would run to the market for her, carry things for her or help her get things. There was not a lot of time to be a kid. She also cooked and cleaned clothes. This was difficult for her. She tried to attend school at one point but got an eye disease and had to quit school. Fara is a very sweet girl who loves her new life at the girls home. She loves school and all her new friends at the orphanage as well.
