Oct 6

If you have any art to submit for the art fair please get it to us as soon as possible.  It is due by Friday, but the sooner the better.

"Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.  Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field'" - Matthew 9:37-38

"Le sa a, li di disip li yo: Rekot la anpil, men manke travaye pou ranmase l.  Mande met jaden an pou li voye travaye nan jaden l lan." - Matye 9:37-38

Pete yon lot jou.  As in, I don't have time for a Creole phrase, perhaps another day.  It means perhaps another day.  Haha

Jocelyn is our in-house comedian and jokester. Always smiling and ready to joke around with you, he also has a very serious side and is passionate about things that are important to him. He loves soccer, Bible study and being around people.

Cherline is one of three sisters. Originally from northern Haiti, Cherline moved to Port Au Prince with her mother and sisters. When her mother became very ill, Cherline began to beg on the streets to collect enough money to send her mom to the hospital. Before moving to the orphanage, she lived in one of Port Au Prince's worse slums called Cite Solie. Her mother did not want her begging on the street any longer and wanted her in our orphanage. Since coming to Maison de Lumiere, she has been very happy, loves school and hopes to one day have her own bike.
