Your October 3rd email, written on October 2nd

Hi Team!

Please be praying for Dan, Sylvia and Chris.  And also Dave, because he is just always in Mexico.  The rest all leave for Mexico sometime today for the weekend.  Pray that God would use them and prepare them in the short time they are down there!

Team Updates:  It looks like our friend TiGeorge (not 100% sure) will be on the same plane and he also said he might be able to stop by the orphanage for an hour or so.  So cool!  Next Thursday is our team meeting and I am excited (and you should all be as well) because Dave Wilson is coming up from Mexico to join us.  I'm also excited because we will all be together as a team.  We are also having a prayer meeting on Tuesday night at the Andersen's.

1 Cor 13:1-3
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong of a clanging cymbal.  If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and If I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.  If I give all I possess to the poor, and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Your two kids for the day:

Dieunit is not pronounced like it looks, if you are interested you can ask but her nickname is Ti-Comic.

Dieunit has a twin brother and is one of eight children. At a young age, Dieunit's mother died and her father, a poor farmer in northern Haiti, tried to take care of the kids. As survival became difficult, Dieunit, her step-mom, and three brothers came to the city to see if they could raise money to help the family. Her mother was able to start selling cookies on the street but was robbed a number of times by street thugs. Dieunit would beg but could not earn much. People on the street were often mean and abusive. She hated having to beg on the street and constantly feared others on the street, getting hit by cars or being shot. Dieunit loves her new home, school and enjoys helping wash dishes and play with the other girls. Her best friend is Chedeline.

Anderson
At a young age, Anderson's mother died of breast cancer. Passed from neighbor's house to relative's house, no one wanted him because they struggled to survive as it was. He spent time living on the street and by the time he was referred to Maison de Lumiere, he had been beaten and rejected. He is happy to finally be in a safe place where people treat him well and where he can learn about God. Besides soccer and basketball, one of his favorite things is tumbling where he is always trying to perfect the ultimate flip.
